Inverter in a terminal box

Variable speed is obtained on ac motors with integral inverters, Simplatroll says it has taken the concept a step further with the TBX terminal box inverter, which will be on display on Stand 4140.

The major difference is that the TBX is self-contained. A standard motor, such as 2, 4, and 6 pole motors as well as brake motors, can be converted into a variable speed drive by removing the old terminal box and bolting on the inverter. The range is available in three ratings 400, 800 and 1500.

It is claimed the unit has resulted in performance levels beyond that normally achieved with single phase inverters with excellent starting torques.
