Newry-based waste water management specialist FM Environmental has sold 22 of its Grease Guardian catering fat management machines to Singapore Airport in a deal worth £100,000.
The deal, signed following a recent Invest Northern Ireland trade mission to Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand, will help caterers in Terminal 3 at Changi International Airport, Singapore to eliminate grease pollution.
Eamonn Fitzpatrick, FM Environmental Chairman, said: ‘This is an immensely important breakthrough for us in a market that we have been targeting for many years. While we have sold a number of Grease Guardians to restaurants there over the years, the contract with Changi International Airport is easily our most prestigious and important. Grease Guardians will be used to separate and manage fat and grease from w ater in catering operations.’
Alan Hingston, Invest NI’s Director of Trade, said: ‘This company is one of the many exceptional success stories of our Passport to Export programme. It’s tremendously encouraging for us to see how FM has developed into a global company with an impressive portfolio of ‘blue chip’ clients including the world’s leading fast food companies, international hotels and major airports such as Heathrow, Barcelona, Schipol in Amsterdam, and Oslo.
‘Our Passport to Export programme has been designed to help SMEs in particular to pinpoint and exploit opportunities in world markets in a structured way that helps to optimise potential and minimise risk,’ he said.
