Too much pressure

Monitran Ltd is launching a range of linear variable differential transformers designed to allow pressures of up to 6000 psi to exist between the core of a transducer and internal assembly.

Monitran Ltd is launching a new range of linear variable differential transformers designed to allow pressures of up to 6000 psi to exist between the core of a transducer and internal assembly.

The new LVDT’s are said to offer superior performance for a variety of high-pressure applications, such as displacement measurement in hydraulic systems.

The pressurised LVDT series are manufactured from what Monitran describes as rugged, high grade steel and are available in measuring ranges from ±25mm to ±500mm, with optional internal electronics available to give a DC or 40-20mA output.’Our expertise lies in the design of instrumentation,’ said Chris Hansford, managing director of Monitran.

Typical applications for the pressurised series LVDT’s are in hydraulic and servo-hydraulic systems, automotive engine management, aircraft engine thrust control and heavy plant equipment or where the LVDT is acting as a feedback loop source within a cylinder.
