Military connectors to be torpedoed

FCI, the world’s third largest connector and interconnect systems manufacturer, is reviewing plans that could lead to the sale of its Military/Aerospace and Industrial Division.

FCI, the world’s third largest connector and interconnect systems manufacturer, is reviewing plans that could lead to the sale of its Military/Aerospace and Industrial Division (MAI).

The MAI division accounts for 9% of FCI’s total turnover and employs 1300 people.

‘MAI needs the dedicated support and resources of another company, specialised in this sector, that will enable this division to reach its full market potential and thereby help maintain local employment prospects,’ said Jean-Lucien Lamy, Chairman and CEO of FCI.

The company’s new strategy is to focus all its resources on the telecom, data, automotive, electrical power and industrial and consumer markets.
