3G CDMA baseband processor

The CBP4.0 ‘SignalSphere processor’ from LSI Logic Corporation is designed for voice and data communication applications.

The CBP4.0 ‘SignalSphere processor’ from LSI Logic Corporation is designed for voice and data communication applications, including cellular handsets and data modems, with compatibility and functionality for future wireless devices.

A single-chip CDMA Baseband Processor, it supports the new 3G standard, CDMA2000-A 1xRTT.

Based on LSI Logic’s G12 0.18-micron 1.8-volt CMOS technology, the CBP4.0 uses clocking control, multiple sleep modes, and power management of on chip analog blocks to reduce the power of the device. It almost doubles the standby time of previous-generation products through the use of a ‘Quick Paging Channel’ and low chip quiescent current.

The SignalSphere processor comes with complete development tools, which include development/integration systems, reference design, ETS (Engineering Test Software), and GAT (Graphical Analysis Tool).

The ETS package provides low-level data access for system integration and phone calibration capability for production-test functionality. The GAT software package works with ETS to provide a graphical view of the essential data during development and field-testing.
