Alstom has won a 225 MW electricity power plant order worth around 160 million euros.

The combined cycle plant, which will be built in the centre of Moscow, consists of two blocks of type KAX100-2DH. Each block is based on two Alstom gas turbines type GTX100 and one 30 MW Alstom steam turbine.

The end customer and future operator of the plant is City Energo Ltd of Russia.

The plant will be supplied by Alstom’s facility in Finspong, Sweden and will be built in two phases. The work on the first phase has already started and first connection with the electrical grid, in simple cycle mode, is scheduled for the beginning of 2003. The second phase is scheduled to start in July 2003.

The power plant will provide district heating and power to a new international business centre, Moscow International Business Centre, which is now under construction.
