Ethernet is sweet solution for Cadbury

Chocolate and confectionary manufacturer Cadbury has chosen Buckinghamshire-based Scalable Networks to install a £50,000, high-speed, wireless link and upgrade at its Birmingham headquarters and factory complex.

The high-speed technology company has completed the first stage of a 100Mbps fast ethernet infra-red link between the Bournville Lane site buildings. It is also redesigning the existing, 18-month old token ring fibre link infrastructure.

Alan McGibbon, managing director of Scalable Networks, said: `Cadbury’s problem was that it was putting all of its IT eggs in one basket – with just one physical link between the main buildings, the risk of network failure is high.’
