TouchSystems, in partnership with eTurboTouch Technology, has disclosed that its new Turbo T6, a patent-pending, 5-wire analog resistive touchscreen, enhanced with an EMI (Electromagnetic Interference) shield has a lifespan greater than 50 million touches, nearly twice that of the closest competitor.
‘The critical difference in Resistive touchscreen technology is where ‘x’ and ‘y’ coordinates are derived. We generate the touch position off the stable layer so that no changes occur during the product lifespan,’ says Gary Barrett, TouchSystems Chief Technical Officer.
‘Beyond the traditional 5-wire benefits, as a value add, our 6th wire eliminates electrical interference and allows the screen to maintain optimal operation, even in adverse conditions,’ he concludes.
Turbo T6 analog resistive touchscreens are available in 2 in – 21in sizes. T6 can be custom designed to meet non-standard specifications or configured as a drop-in replacement to standard 5-wire touchscreens.
The T6 is targeted for a range of industries; POS, Kiosk, mobile warehousing, GPS, web phones, retail, ATMs, and industrial control.
