Modern engineering substrates are used increasingly across a broad industry base but traditional mechanical fixing methods are often undesirable or not possible, and joining solutions, appropriate to individual and varied substrates, must be found.
With this in mind, Vantico is introducing Araldite 2027, a new two-component polyurethane adhesive. Araldite 2027 forms part of Vantico’s Araldite 2000 range of engineering adhesives and is designed for primerless bonding of SMC, but is also said to bond well to many other composite, engineering plastic materials and metals.
Araldite 2027 has thixotropic properties and the ability to fill gaps of up to 10mm. It is said to be fast curing at room temperature, requiring 90 minutes to reach handling strength, and also shows a high level of water/humidity resistance.
Araldite 2027 is available in a variety of packaging, including duel-barrel cartridges with static mixers and manual or pneumatic guns.
