Procurement solution implemented at TWR

A web-enabled procurement solution has been implemented by the TWR Group, the specialist vehicle design and manufacturing company and owner of the Arrows F1 team.

The iBaan Procurement Web-enabled solution has been successfully implemented by the TWR Group, the specialist international vehicle design and manufacturing company and owner of the Arrows F1 team. The package, installed at TWR’s headquarters at Leafield, Oxfordshire, provides a fast-track approach to collaborative commerce by connecting purchasers, buyers and suppliers.

The new buying environment has enabled TWR to speed product selection, reduce costs and improve productivity. Ross Kirkham, IT Director for TWR Group suggested: ‘We’ve succeeded in reducing our lead time from initial interest through to fulfilment, and improved overall cost control.’

Using the embedded authorisation process, TWR has cut the cost of processing a purchase order from around £60 to just £6. ‘We’ve also been able to standardise our product procurement in areas such as notebook PCs and fast moving technology purchases, reducing the purchase of obsolete equipment, reducing buyer time, and enabling buyers to negotiate ‘best prices’ for supported products,’ Kirkham added.

Baan and TWR are jointly developing a turnkey automotive manufacturing solution for the short-run, high visibility specialty vehicle production market, based on the iBaanERP solution.
