Gennum has selected digital phosphor oscilloscopes for use in development labs, which provide customer support for video applications.

Tektronix has announced that Gennum, a major supplier of components, integrated circuits and subsystems to the video markets, has selected its digital phosphor oscilloscopes (DPOs) for use in development labs, which provide customer support for video applications including high-definition television.

Tektronix will supply Canadian-based Gennum with the TDS7404 DPO for its new test labs in Japan and Europe. Gennum’s customers can utilize the facilities to evaluate, test, and debug their designs, complementing the company’s Applications Engineering Group, which provides technical expertise to customers incorporating Gennum silicon into their designs.

‘Today’s variety of video standards and formats pose perhaps the most daunting challenges the video industry has ever faced. Tektronix is combining its long heritage of leadership in the video industry with a clear vision of its customer’s current and future needs to enable the success of the established and emerging players in the video industry as it continues to evolve,’ said Gerald Ostheimer, vice president, Tektronix Europe, Middle East and Africa.
