Ammunition order worth over $23 million

The US Army Joint Munitions Command has recently awarded General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems $23,991,941 to produce ammunition for the Army’s Bradley Fighting Vehicle and the Marine Corp’s Light Armoured Vehicle.

The US Army Joint Munitions Command has recently awarded General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems a contract to produce ammunition for the US Army and US Marines. The award is the fifth-year option of a 5-year multi-year contract for ammunition production.

The option, valued at $23,991,941, is for the production of 673,320 rounds of 25mm M910 TPDS-T (Target Practice Discarding Sabot-Tracer) cartridges and 1,453,300 rounds of 25mm M793 TP-T cartridges.

This award brings the total contract value to $95.6 million.

The M793 and M910 ammunition are used in the Bushmaster Gun System mounted on the US Army’s Bradley Fighting Vehicle and the US Marine Corp’s Light Armoured Vehicle.

Work will be performed at the company’s Marion, Illinois, facility and is expected to be completed by February 2005.
