URS Corporation today announced that its EG&G division has been awarded $53 million by the US Navy to provide technical support on two major Navy Joint Surface Warfare programs.

URS Corporation today announced that its EG&G division has been awarded a contract with the US Navy to provide technical support on two major Navy Joint Surface Warfare programs: the Co-operative Engagement Capability and Standard Display/Processor System initiatives.

EG&G will also support several other Navy navigation system programs as part of the five-year contract, which is worth up to $53 million to URS.

EG&G will provide engineering and technical support services to the Naval Sea Systems Command Integrated Warfare Systems Acquisition Program Directorate.

The Co-operative Engagement Capability program is focused on the development of technology that will allow the Navy, Army, Air Force and Marine Corps share surveillance, targeting and weapons control data.

The Standard Display/Processor System program is said to provide common workstations and display data for many Navy shipboard tactical combat systems.
