Hampson awarded £15m

Hampson Industries has signed an agreement for the supply of close tolerance shaft and wheel assemblies for high performance turbochargers used in passenger cars.

Hampson Industries’ Automotive Turbocharger division has signed an agreement with a European customer for the supply of close tolerance shaft and wheel assemblies for high performance turbochargers used in passenger cars.

The agreement, expected to be worth in excess of £15m over five-years, represents the largest single contract won by the division and, together with other recent contract wins, represents a significant source of future growth.

‘Hampson is ideally positioned to benefit from growing long-term demand for turbochargers emanating from the continuing penetration of “clean diesel” engines in light vehicles and the growing fitment of turbochargers to gasoline direct injection engines, in the global passenger car markets,’ commented Hampson’s chief executive, Kim Ward.
