The London Technology Fund (LTF) Competition 2008 is to launch this month, to provide financial assistance to start-up and early stage technology companies based in London. The fund acts as a bridge between potential investors and UK technology companies, offering individual businesses up to £1.5m.
The fund covers business in communications, computing and other electronics related fields, biotechnology, medical, emerging technology, energy, environmental, physical sciences and engineering, new materials and value added manufacturing. Within these businesses the scheme hopes to identify those that show the potential for rapid sustainable growth.
The LTF aims to create a shortlist of exciting London-based small and medium sized enterprises and will invite them to take part in a number of workshops that provide training and advice worth around £100,000.
Shortlisted companies will then present their bid for investment and the six finalists will receive further training in presentation skills. Judges will pick the two winning companies that will share £1m. The deadline for applications is 1 June 2008.
