Queens Awards winners recognised

The best in British innovation and trade was celebrated this week at the Queen’s Awards for Enterprise reception held on 22 April.



More that 140 companies won prizes in the three categories: Innovation, Sustainable Development and International Trade.



Among the award recipients in the Innovation category was Aylesbury-based Diamond Consulting Services, whose Idris Intelligent Transport Solution (ITS) works with induction loops in the road to identify traffic its behaviour.



The Greenbank Group from Woodville, Derbyshire was recognised for its innovative boiler optimisation technology, which allows coal fired power stations to generate more electricity with less coal, improve emissions and reduce potential landfill from the residual ash.



Land Rover scooped an award for its Terrain Response system, which adjust the vehicle to different off-road terrains just by turning a dial. This in turn reconfigures the engine, transmission, suspension and traction to the appropriate settings to optimise driving.



OneClick Technologies won for its IntelliPlug, an intelligent energy saving mains adaptor, which can switch home computers and their peripherals, or home entertainment equipment, completely off from standby based on user behaviour.
