Doncaster-based PBS Group has announced a 40 per cent turnover increase, following a £50,000 loan from South Yorkshire Investment Fund (SYIF). The company has announced a £6m turnover for the year ending March 2008, compared to £4.4m the previous year.
The loan assisted towards the working capital, which helped to cover the expansion of operations and allowed the company to create partnerships with Henry Boot, The Wates Group and Bramall Construction. In partnership with Wates, PBS is assisting with the fitting of kitchens and bathrooms, renewing central heating and rewiring of 200 properties in Doncaster.
SYIF business director Andy Chaffer said: ‘They encourage apprenticeships enabling young people to gain the skills they require to enjoy a long-lasting career in the construction industry.’
He added: ‘We are therefore pleased to support their expansion with this funding as it will provide more job opportunities in South Yorkshire.’
