The Northwest Development Agency (NWDA) is to provide a £1.95m fund to support Zen Internet’s growth plans in the Rochdale area. Zen has completed a move from three separate sites to a new development in Sandbrook Park, Rochdale, demonstrating its commitment to the region.
The NWDA has worked closely with Zen to put together a package that includes a grant and a repayable element, when the company achieves certain targets. Any funding repaid will be reinvested to support other companies in the north west, allowing the regions businesses to benefit from Zen’s potential success.
NWDA chief executive Steven Broomhead said: ‘The investment by the NWDA will add to the significant private investment by the company and will lead to the creation of 250 jobs over the next five years.’
Zen has experienced impressive growth year on year and this month was awarded the Which? Best Buy for the UK’s Best Broadband supplier.
