Shakespeare continues to invest for success

Essex-based Shakespeare Engineering, a long term supporter of Subcon, will be exhibiting this year on Stand F112.

The growing success of the company has led to a number of investments across a range of processes. These include two vacuum brazing furnaces, a pulsed TIG welding facility and a coil winding Machine for round wire and strip. It has also opened a press shop for low to medium volume pressings in special materials such as Monel and OFHC Copper.

On the machining side of the business, new CNC machines include two further five-axis machining centres and a new large diameter lathe for turning up to 750mm diameter

Shakespeare International, the company’s offshore sourcing division, has opened a new office in Taipei, Taiwan. Its existing office in Suzhou, China showed a 24% growth in turnover in 2008 and already has significant orders for 2009 for machined components, castings, springs & mouldings.

Shakespeare Engineering joins a host of UK and international exhibitors at the Subcon 2009, the UK’s one-stop-shop for subcontract manufacturing services that takes place at the NEC Birmingham from 9 to 11 June.

Subcon 2009 will give buyers the chance to source all types of subcontract manufacturing services from the UK’s biggest showcase of national and international suppliers.

Manufacturing services on offer cover everything from machined parts, electronic assemblies, castings, plastic mouldings and metal fabrications, through to full manufacturing services, design and build, and rapid prototyping.

Complementing this comprehensive range of subcontracting exhibitors, a new added-value feature, the Manufacturing Equipment and Materials Zone, which presents  products and services for which buyers of subcontract manufacturing may also have procurement responsibility.
