AMEC accepts Xcite oil field contract

AMEC, an engineering and project management company, has been appointed by Xcite Energy Resources, a developer of heavy oil assets, to undertake consultancy work to help develop the Bentley heavy oil field, situated 160km east of the Shetland Isles in the North Sea.

The value of the contract has not been announced.

Working as part of Xcite’s project consortium, AMEC will provide technical consultancy, engineering and project management for the well-test programme, planned for mid-2010.

The first phase of the development is planned to commence production in 2011, with full-field development to be completed in due course.
