Johnson notes double-digit sales growth

For the second quarter of fiscal 2010, automotive, building-efficiency and power-solutions company Johnson Controls reported a double-digit increase in sales, with each of the company’s businesses reporting higher profitability.

Net sales of 8.3bn were up 32 per cent versus sales for the second quarter of 2009 of $6.3bn, with income from business segments coming to $429m compared with a loss of $119m in the same quarter last year.

Net income came to $274m, compared with a loss of $193m in second-quarter 2009, while earnings per share were $0.40, compared with a loss of $0.33 per share in second-quarter 2009.
