BAE Systems acquires Fairchild Imaging’s outstanding equity

British defence, security and aerospace company BAE Systems has completed the acquisition, first announced 21 January, of the outstanding equity of privately owned Fairchild Imaging.

Fairchild Imaging designs and manufactures solid-state electronic imaging components, cameras and systems.

These components have potential uses across aerospace, industrial, medical and scientific imaging applications, including night-vision systems, thermal imagers, aerial mapping and missile seekers.

Fairchild Imaging employs approximately 160 people at its facility in Milpitas, California, which will now become part of the BAE Systems Electronic Solutions sector headquartered in Nashua, New Hampshire.
