FCC and Mitsui close funding for Gúzman thermal plant

Spanish construction company FCC and Japanese conglomerate Mitsui, partners in the Gúzman solar thermal power plant project, have closed the funding for the project with a €226m loan.

Japanese bank Mizuho and Spain’s BBVA have granted project finance for the plant, which will cost €272m.

The Córdoba-based plant is owned by Guzmán Energía, of which 70 per cent belongs to FCC Energía and 30 per cent to Mitsui Renewable Energy Europe.

The 50MW plant is expected to become operational in December 2012.
