Norweigian selects Rolls-Royce engines for Boeing aircraft

Scandinavian airline Norwegian has selected Trent 1000 engines from power-systems company Rolls-Royce to power nine Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft.

The airline, which is selecting Rolls-Royce for the first time, has also signed a $450m (£277.8m) Rolls-Royce Totalcare long-term engine services contract.

This order takes the total number of airlines that have selected the Trent 1000 to 21.

Rolls-Royce has been chosen for six of the last seven Boeing 787 Dreamliner engine selections.
