ShanDong Telecom to expand broadband DSL network

ShanDong Telecom is to expand its existing broadband DSL network to increase fast Internet access coverage in the two biggest cities in ShanDong province.

ShanDong Telecom in China has chosen Nokia to expand its existing broadband DSL network to further increase fast Internet access coverage in the two biggest cities in ShanDong province.

This deal covers network expansions in JiNan, the capital city of ShanDong province and QinDao, the second biggest city in ShanDong and a high-developed industrial zone.

Deliveries have already begun with Nokia supplying its Broadband IP Access solution including D50e, modems and a full range of related services.

The Nokia Broadband IP Access solution includes the D50e, a two-stage ATM-transmission based DSLAM (Digital Subscriber Line Access Multiplexer) platform, which allows operators to offer a complete range of DSL technologies, including ADSL and g.SHDSL from a single system.

Working with Nokia’s other IP (Internet Protocol) products, the Nokia D50e helps operators to establish an optimum DSL broadband access system, taking the Broadband industry from fast internet access to interactive media and streaming video services.
