An Alstom-led consortium has been awarded a contract by Hc Energia for the construction of a 400MW combined cycle power station in Soto de Ribera, Spain.



The order, which includes a long-term operation support and maintenance contract, is worth a total of €340m (£269m).



Under the terms of the contract, Alstom will supply a fully integrated turnkey power plant, comprising of one single-shaft power train, integrating in-house core plant components that include one GT26 gas turbine, a heat-recovery steam generator, a steam turbine and one turbogenerator.



The new power plant represents the eighth GT26 power station constructed by Alstom in Spain and the fourth with Hc Energia following Castejon 1 & 2 and Soto 4.



To date, Alstom has sold 118 GT24/GT26 gas turbines and the fleet has accumulated more than 2.7 million firing hours.
