Atmel reports increase in revenues

Atmel, a provider of microcontroller and touch solutions, has announced that company revenues in the second quarter of 2010 were $393.4m (£247.2m) − up 13 per cent from $348.5m in the first quarter of 2010 and 38 per cent from $284.5m in the second quarter of 2009.

GAAP net loss was $36.4m, or $0.08 per diluted share, compared with a GAAP net income of $16.6m, or $0.04 per diluted share, in the first quarter of 2010 and a net loss of $12.4m, or $0.03 per diluted share, in the second quarter of 2009.

Non-GAAP net income totalled $50.8m, or $0.11 per diluted share, compared with non-GAAP net income of $25.5m, or $0.05 per diluted share, in the first quarter of 2010 and non-GAAP net loss of $0.6m, or $0 per diluted share, in the second quarter of 2009.
