GM records decrease in net income and net revenue

General Motors (GM) has announced second-quarter net income attributable to common stockholders of $1.5bn (£959m) or $0.90 per fully diluted share.

In the second quarter of 2011, the company’s net income attributable to common stockholders was $2.5bn or $1.54 per fully diluted share.

Net revenue in the second quarter of 2012 was $37.6bn, compared with $39.4bn in the second quarter of last year.

The decrease is mainly due to the strengthening of the US dollar versus other major currencies.
