METYX Composites has completed the acquisition of all LEDA assets and some of the major assets of Advanced Composites Technology (ACT) Group in Mondavio, Italy.
The LEDA facility in Mondavio was one of Europe’s leading kitting operations prior to the recession. It was equipped with automated lines for foam and reinforcements kits. According to Ugur Ustunel, co-director of METYX Composites, the LEDA machine park will increase the company’s capacity and diversify its product and service offering.
ACT Group was one of the first companies in Europe to use vacuum infusion technology in the production of large components, such as the hulls and decks of the 120ft (37m) Pershing boats. The company was also involved in numerous marine and wind energy projects until the economic downturn.
METYX Composites plans to expand on the work of both LEDA and ACT.
