Vishay Intertechnology recently announced a new series of 10 MBd optocouplers in an SOIC-8 packaged rated for operating temperatures up to +100 degrees C.
The new SFH67xxT optocouplers are said to feature a reinforced insulation construction combining an input LED with an integrated optical photodiode IC detector optimised for applications requiring high data rates. These include applications such as communication bus lines, high-speed A/D and D/A converters, digital control power supplies, industrial controller I/O interfaces, and scan driver IC interfaces for plasma display panels.
Along with a typical speed of 10 MBd and operating temperature range of -40 degrees C to 100 degrees C, the new optocouplers feature CMR values up to 10,000 V/µs, typical pulse-width distortion (PWD) of 2.9 ns, typical propagation delay (tPHL) of 50 ns, and fast rise and fall times of 23 ns and 7 ns, respectively.
According to a statement, Vishay’s 10 MBd optocouplers deliver improved output leakage current performance thanks to their NMOS open drain output structure. In addition, they provide a higher isolation replacement for signal isolation transformers, as well as noise immunity and diminished electromagnetic interference by reducing potential ground loops in electronic equipment.
The six new optocouplers are available in a standard SOIC-8 package with reinforced insulation per IEC60950 184.108.40.206 and eight pure tin leads.
Three are configured with a single channel and three with dual channels, with each configuration offering a choice of CMR values of 100 V/µs, 5,000 V/µs, or 10,000 V/µs. The single-channel devices also feature an enable function on the seventh pin for strobing the detector.
