Archimedes agreement for Deritrend

Severn Trent Water has awarded Deritend a framework agreement for the supply and maintenance of Archimedes type screw pumps

Severn Trent Water has awarded Wolverhampton headquartered engineer Deritend a framework agreement for the supply and maintenance of Archimedes type screw pumps.

Archimedes screw pumps are used predominantly in sewage treatment works, but have a limited service life. Severn Trent Water contracted Deritrend to provide essential service and maintenance duties.

Jamie Wesley, operations manager at Deritend’s Ashby-de-la-Zouch branch, said: ‘We are extremely pleased to have won this contract. It represents significant supply and repair business for us, but also reinforces our reputation as a market leading maintenance supplier to the utilities sector.’

The contract covers maintenance, refurbishment, supply of spare parts, and provision of new equipment across various locations within the Severn Trent area which stretch from the Humber estuary to the Bristol Channel and from mid-Wales to the east Midlands.

Deritend adds this contract to two existing Severn Trent Water framework agreements, which total over £1m per year, covering various aspects of on site contracting plus supply and repair of electric motors.
