Yokogawa wins control system order for Vietnamese plant

Yokogawa Engineering has received an order from Japanese trading company Marubeni to supply the control system for the Nghi Son 1 thermal power plant (comprising two 300MW units) being built by Vietnam Electricity (EVN) in the Nghi Son district of Thanh Hoa Province.

In what is Yokogawa’s third order of this kind from a thermal power plant in Vietnam, the company will provide control systems for the plant’s boilers, turbines and auxiliary facilities.

Financing for this construction project will be provided in the form of Japanese government-backed ODA loans through the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), following an agreement signed in March 2007 for the disbursement of the first JPY20,943bn loan.

Scheduled to start operation in 2014, the plant will supply electricity to the Nghi Son industrial complex and to northern Vietnam.
