Exxonmobil agrees to help Badger Explorer develop device

Technology developer Badger Explorer has signed a three-year development agreement with ExxonMobil Exploration and Production Norway, whereby the oil company will sponsor the Badger Explorer demonstrator programme for the period 2012–2014.

The objective of the demonstrator programme is to move Badger technology from the prototype stage to a viable and robust commercial product, the Badger 125 (BE125).

This development agreement represents the formal start of the Badger demonstrator programme that will begin by establishing a design basis for the BE125, whose commercial applications include use in sensors and instrumentation that can identify hydrocarbons for reservoir monitoring and management.

In addition to the implementation of the demonstrator programme, Badger Explorer aims to deliver the first field pilots on a commercial basis.
