DeepOcean UK set to install PRM system on Snorre oilfield

DeepOcean UK has been awarded a contract by Statoil for the installation and trenching of a permanent reservoir monitoring (PRM) system on the Snorre oilfield in the Norwegian sector of the North Sea.

The multi-year project — set to commence in 2013 — will consist of the installation and trenching of around 500km of subsea seismic cables and associated risers in water depths of more than 300m.

Once installed, the large seismic monitoring array will assist Statoil in increasing oil recovery from the Snorre reservoir throughout the field’s life.
