Highland invests in its Elgin plant to future-proof business

Highland Galvanizers and Colour Coaters is investing around £250,000 in its Elgin operation as it seeks to future-proof the business.

The company’s Pinefield hot-dip galvanising factory serves a range of industries, which seek corrosion-protected coatings on products made of steel.

This month, Highland plans to upgrade the plant’s kettle — the 11m-long, 3m-deep steel tank that holds the molten zinc that forms the main part of the galvanising process.

The company also recently spent £2.5m redeveloping its premises in Cumbernauld.
