Analogue expansion unit for World’s smallest PLC

The FP0 series in Matsushita Electric Works’ PLC range has been enhanced with an analogue expansion unit, capable of processing eight analogue inputs.

The FP0 series in Matsushita Electric Works’ PLC range has been enhanced with an analogue expansion unit, capable of processing eight analogue inputs at conversion speeds of 2ms. Processors can support up to 3 expansion units, providing up to 24 analogue inputs for each PLC.

The FP0-A80 offers 12-bit resolution and high-speed A/D conversion, allowing accurate process control, which can be further enhanced with the added feature of a PID function in the PLC’s instruction set.

The new unit is configured with DIP switches. Each input on the unit can accept voltages of +/-100mV, 0-5V and +/-100V and currents ranging from 0-20mA. The FP0 CPU itself is claimed the smallest in the World at just 25 x 90 x 60mm. It features RS232C communications between PLC and other devices such as HMIs, modems and printers.
