Honeywell wins lifecycle contract

Honeywell has been awarded a $6.5million contract to supply lifecycle management (LCM) services to Lyondell Chemie Nederland, the Dutch subsidiary of the US chemicals major Lyondell.

Representing Honeywell’s first LCM contract in Europe, the service will help Lyondell decide which parts of its plant to modernise, when work should be carried out, and how long they want to protect the investment.
The contract will see Honeywell migrate Lyondell’s existing TDC3000 process automation system to its newer Experion PKS Process Knowledge System.

Providing access to all the data from systems devices across the process and integrating process and business data, the system is claimed to allow operators make the right business decisions more quickly, and move to newer technologies as they become available.

‘One of our primary challenges is to continuously improve our operations and set standards for best practices,’ says Jos Benders, Lyondell’s director of manufacturing for Europe.

‘Honeywell technology and services can provide us with efficient, effective solutions that will help us meet our challenges and provide global competitiveness.’
