Manufacturing sold

Siemens Energy & Automation has sold its electronic manufacturing centres in Johnson City, TN and South Lebanon, OH to Epic Technologies for an undisclosed sum.

The Johnson City facility, which Siemens purchased in 1991 from Texas Instruments, employs approximately 400 people. The South Lebanon, OH operations were purchased from Eaton Corporation in 2000, and employ approximately 100 employees.

All current Siemens employees will transfer their employment to Epic Technologies on February 1, 2005 under existing management.

Siemens had earlier announced its intention to spin-off these operations. The facilities have been used by Siemens to manufacture custom electronic circuit boards and other electronic devices for a variety of applications.

Epic Technologies will continue contract manufacturing at the facilities and will assume responsibility for Siemens’ current orders. The sale will not affect remaining Siemens operations in North Johnson City, TN or the Motion Control Systems activities of Siemens located in the South Lebanon, OH facility.
