Bangladesh signs MoU with UK bodies for energy research

The Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC), the EPSRC and the government of Bangladesh have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on energy research today.

Under the MoU, UK universities and institutes will partner with colleagues in Bangladesh to develop research projects on renewable energy, and work relating to energy technologies, systems, services and policies.

Bangladesh has been experiencing sustained economic growth for more than a decade and now faces choices on the kind of energy infrastructure it should develop to meet its increasing energy needs.

The DECC believes Bangladesh requires high-quality research and development into energy systems and their interactions with society in order to make those choices.
