Sustainable Energy to take biomass plans forward

An independent renewable energy consultancy has been appointed client engineer by NHS Highlands in its bid to implement plans for a £2.2m biomass plant.

Sustainable Energy Ltd, will independently advise the healthcare organisation throughout the project cycle, from feasibility to operation, to deliver an optimised system at Raigmore and Caitness Hospitals.

The plant design, created by Sustainable Energy Ltd and recently approved by the Highland Health Board, uses steam biomass technology to cut energy spend by £500,000 and create C02 savings of 5,983 tonnes.
