Optical table experts at Melles Griot have developed a concept in workstation design, specifically for users involved in precision alignment of optical fibres and production of optical devices in the telecommunications and related industries.

Developed and tested to provide an ergonomic answer to the demands of the modern production environment, NanoDesk is a modular system, easily customised and designed with ergonomics as a priority. Melles Griot developed the workstation with Grant Westfield, specialist laboratory furniture manufacturers and architectural laboratory fabricators.

The NanoDesk has a range of worksurface and breadboard sizes from 750mm x750mm, to 9090mm x120mm. The Workstation consists of a black, lightweight, all-aluminium frame complete with a passive damping system, adjustable wrist rest, two 42mm posts with flat screen monitor holders, a rear overhead shelf and a rear under shelf.

With strong anchor points at 100mm centres, the NanoDesk can support a whole range of accessories, giving users the ability to customise each workstation according to their individual needs. These include a single shelf, side shelf, CPU shelf and binnacle modules.
