Data acquisition fast

The PXI-8170/850 RT controller uses a Pentium III 850 MHz processor to power a real-time operating system for deterministic, reliable performance.

The Ethernet-enabled PXI-8170/850 RT controller from National Instruments is the latest in a series of high-performance real-time data acquisition and control systems based on PXI/CompactPCI and LabVIEW Real-Time. The controller uses a Pentium III 850 MHz processor to power a real-time operating system for deterministic, reliable performance.

The PXI-8170/850 RT is capable of running control loops three times faster than the existing PXI-8156B/333 RT controller. With the additional processing power of the new controller, engineers and scientists can create more deterministic real-time applications.

With the PXI-8170 RT, engineers and scientists quickly build customised real-time systems with a variety of NI hardware and software. The PXI-8170 RT includes a 6 GB hard drive, floppy drive, and serial port. It also is bundled with the PXI-8211 Ethernet board and preinstalled with the embedded LabVIEW Real-Time engine and driver software to reduce setup time.
