kN or MPa pressures may find a solution in Sensor Products Inc’s new Super High tactile pressure sensor film.
Engineers and technicians who need to measure very high kg/cm^2 orkN or MPa pressures may find a solution in Sensor Products Inc’s new Super High tactile pressure sensor film.
The new product is an addition to Sensor Products Inc’s Pressurex line of tactile pressure sensor films (TPSF), which are used to measure contact pressure.
According to Sensor Products Inc, Pressurex TPSF is a tactile pressure sensor film that enables the accurate, efficient, and cost effective measurement of contact pressure, beginning at 2 kg/cm^2 up to 3,037 kg/cm^2 (28 PSI to 43,200 PSI).
The new addition to the Pressurex line came in response to a demand for a film range that would record and interpret, via optical analysis, ranges greater than 1300 kg/cm^2.
‘Previously we could only offer ability to assess pressures up to and including 1300 kg/cm^2; we now can offer engineers a product which records static contact force up to 3037 kg/cm^2,’ commented Sensor Products’ Gerard E Mayers.
The new pressure sensor film is also said to offer an economical method of determining interfacial contact force and static recording of contact pressures. Additionally, the distribution and magnitude of pressure can be measured whilst contact pressure can be archived for review.
Senior Technical Manager Jeffrey Stark added, ‘We foresee tremendous possibilities for applications involving metal forming, stamping, reinforced plastics – almost any industrial use where high contract force must be calibrated and measured.’
