The centre, Innovation Martlesham, will be located on Adastral Park at Martlesham Heath, Suffolk, and is intended to become a global centre of excellence for R&D. Supported by funding from the East of England Development Agency (EEDA), it aims to provide the largest concentration of ICT related research and development companies in the UK. It will also play an important part in BT’s plans for the redevelopment of Adastral Park within the company’s vision for the future of the site.

Innovation Martlesham will initially be based at existing buildings on BT’s Adastral Park campus, with purpose-built new developments to be phased into the existing business support network.

Over the coming months Sagentia and Carter Jonas will develop the site, refurbishing and equipping accommodation to meet the needs of businesses, finding tenants and setting up the park’s business support networks.

Innovation Martlesham is being developed by a partnership comprising of EEDA, BT, Sagentia/Carter Jonas, Suffolk County Council and Suffolk Coastal District Council. It will offer flexible incubation space for high-tech ICT related knowledge based enterprises.
