Kuwait oil deal for Amec

London-based international engineering company Amec has renewed a project management consultancy services contract with Kuwait Oil Company worth £163m over five years


London-based international engineering company Amec has renewed a project management consultancy services contract with Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) worth £163m over five years.


The contract covers consultancy services in project management, front-end engineering and related activities for KOC’s upstream oil and gas assets in Kuwait. It follows a previous project management and engineering contract, which ran from 2004 to 2007.


Amec said its work aims to help KOC deliver optimum capacity in its oilfields and to improve its facilities by 2020 with an emphasis on health, safety and the environment,


Working closely with KOC personnel, AMEC will continue to manage KOC capital projects in Kuwait, where KOC is developing new oil fields and expanding the existing fields. AMEC will provide project management, co-ordination, planning, design, engineering, construction management, contracting, procurement, project controls and other services for the construction of new facilities, upgrading of existing facilities, and the transfer of technology.
