US Army orders Chemring mine-detection systems

Non-Intrusive Inspection Technology, (NIITEK), the US subsidiary of Chemring, has been awarded a $38.4m (£24.7m) contract from the US Army for the supply and initial spares of 64 Husky Mine Detection Systems, to be used for clearing buried mines in support of US peacekeeping operations around the world.

Deliveries under the contract will be made until October 2011.
