Evance Wind Turbines sees sales double in 2011

Evance Wind Turbines, a Leicestershire-based manufacturer of small wind turbines, has seen sales grow by more than 200 per cent over the last 12 months and enters 2012 with a strong forward order book for its R9000 small wind turbine.

Continued strong demand across the UK has seen Evance expand its facility, doubling in size to increase its manufacturing capability, while its workforce has grown by 25 per cent over the last year.

Evance claims this growth is also supporting many UK manufacturers, who make up a large part of Evance’s supply chain.

Currently, the Evance turbines installed can generate around 9,900MW/hr of electricity annually, therefore saving more than 4,250 tonnes of CO2 emissions — equivalent to taking around 1,800 cars off the road.
