General Dynamics wins Trident II contract from US Navy

The US Navy has awarded General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems a $95.9m (£62.2m) contract for production and deployed-systems support of US and UK Trident II submarine strategic weapons systems, including the SSBN fire-control system, the SSGN attack weapon-control system, the US SSBN-replacement and the UK SSBN-successor common missile compartment.

The contract has a maximum value of $225m if all options are exercised.
