Houlder more than doubles presence in UK’s north east

Houlder is set to expand its presence in the north east as part of a company-wide expansion strategy that has seen the maritime engineering and design company’s headcount reach more than 100.

Houlder’s office in Boldon, Tyne and Wear, which previously housed six professionals, has been expanded to provide desk space for more engineers, designers and project managers. The company is now designing, fabricating and installing equipment for the offshore oil and gas and renewable energy industries.

Project director Mike Burkett said that the larger and better-equipped offices will enable Houlder to serve local clients and work with local shipyards and fabrication facilities.
