Marshall begins maintenance contract for Austrian Air Force

Marshall Aerospace and Defence Group has begun work on the first of three Hercules C-130Ks for the Austrian Air Force. The programme comprises maintenance and an avionics modification, and seeks to address obsolescence issues and overcome operational restrictions in European airspace.

The systems being replaced or installed include Electronic Attitude Director Indicator and Electronic Horizontal Situation Indicator displays, the autopilot and a standby instrument.

Work on the three aircraft will be performed in line with maintenance inputs, with delivery and return to service of the third aircraft expected in early 2015.
